Alfa Romeo is an Official Supplier of the Luna Rossa team that is competing in the preliminary rounds of the prestigious 2007 America’s Cup. Acts 8 and 9 will be held in Trapani, Sicily, from September 28 to October 9, concluding the 2005 European Tour of the America’s Cup, and bringing to life the competitive determination and technological innovation that link Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa.
Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa
The guests will include Giorgio Rocca, star of the Alfa Romeo Ski Racing Team and Gustav Thoeni, supervisor of the Italian alpine skiing team. The team of the famous yacht has chosen to travel in the new Alfa 159, because of its safety, comfort and styling. The event in Trapani will also coincide with the market launch of this car which is the Italian entry in the world of luxury saloons. Alfa Romeo supports this extraordinary venture wholeheartedly, because it shares the same philosophy that animates the Luna Rossa team: competitive determination combined with sophisticated technological innovation. Both Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa rely on skill, design, the most advanced materials available and outstanding engineering technologies to reach the most ambitious goals and achieve the best performance. These are the winning ingredients that Luna Rossa shares with Alfa Romeo cars: technology, design, performance and a strong personality born out of Italian styling.
Alfa Romeo’s collaboration with the Luna Rossa team confirms the brand’s intention to be a leading player in the world’s most important regattas, reinforcing the equation “Alfa Romeo and innovation”. As both sponsor to the Luna Rossa team and with its own Racing Teams, the brand and its athletes promote Alfa’s own winning spirit and state-of-the-art technology.
Alfa Romeo has always been an exponent of the more technological expressions of racing and sport. For example, the brand sponsors the “Alfa Romeo” yacht, the first boat to set new speed records, the same boat that has won the Grand Slam and some of the most prestigious long distance regattas. And of course Alfa Romeo sponsors the Italian alpine skiing team that competes in the World Cup, Skiing World Championships and Winter Olympics, and has also created the Alfa Romeo Ski Racing Team. And finally, the equation “sport and technology” is also expressed in Alfa’s direct participation in the World Touring Car Championship and the European Alfa challenge.
